About
A co-op desk that reads the store listings so you don't have to.
We don't review games we haven't played. We read the Xbox, Nintendo, PlayStation and Steam listings field by field and tell you which games two (or four) people can play on one couch.
What CouchCoopDesk is
CouchCoopDesk answers one question: two people (or four) are on one sofa tonight, so what can they play on the console or PC they have? The co-op finder holds 270 games (store data checked Oct 18, 2026); the lists and guides are built on top of it. Local and couch co-op come first; online co-op and Steam Remote Play Together are covered too.
The site is run by the CouchCoopDesk desk, not by a named person, and it writes as "we".
How we check a game
- Step1
Read the store, field by field
Players on one console, online players, split-screen labels, crossplay, ESRB rating and price come from each game's official store page on Xbox, Nintendo, PlayStation and Steam, read on a stated day. Each store gets its own column, because the same game often differs between consoles.
- Step2
Say when a store does not tell
Nintendo and PlayStation list player counts without saying co-op or versus; Steam lists categories without counts. Where a field is missing we write "not listed" and leave it there. We never fill a gap from memory.
- Step3
Only words the store used
"Split-screen", "drop-in" and "co-op campaign" tags appear only when a store's own description uses those words, or a publisher page we cite says so.
- Step4
No borrowed images, no invented play
We do not copy box art or screenshots from the stores; game pages link to the official page for images. We do not claim to have played a game: player opinions are quoted from public posts and linked.
The full list of fields and what each store means by them is on Our data.
How articles are made
Articles are researched and drafted with AI tools and checked by the desk before they go live. Every number, date and name in an article has a row in its source file, with the page it came from and the day it was read; anything we cannot match to a source is cut. Each article ends with "How we checked this" and the date it was last reviewed.

Ask the desk
Not sure a game works for your couch? Email contact@couchcoopdesk.com. We answer in public, in the FAQ of the article the question belongs to, with the date; your name and address are never published. There is no form and nothing is collected beyond the email you send.
Corrections
Found a wrong player count or a store that changed? Email contact@couchcoopdesk.com with the game and the store link. We fix it in place and note the change. The same address handles takedown, privacy and legal requests.
