What each player can do here

P1 · Climber 1
  • Every player is chained to the others; the chain is fully simulated and wraps around platforms.
P2 · Climber 2
  • Solo or in a group of up to four; in a group, every climber is chained to the rest.

If your skill levels differ: Uneven group: start in Beginner Mode, which has checkpoints. Our suggestionLet the steadier climber set the pace and call each jump, since the chain is fully simulated and every move pulls on the others. How to split the roles

Before you climb

Part 1 of 3. Pick a mode and a group.

  1. BothPlay alone or chained to up to three others; host a lobby and set the player count.
  2. BothPick a mode: Beginner has checkpoints, Normal has none, and Lava adds lava that keeps rising.
  3. BothBeginner runs do not count for the leaderboard.
  4. BothThe first Wings of Freedom are right at the start: look to the right of the path as you head out.

Hell Cliffs and the Car Race (0–400 m)

Part 2 of 3. Climb out of Hell.

  1. BothThe Hell Cliffs run from 0 to 300 m and the Car Race from 300 to 400 m.

Where people tend to fall

  • Hell Cliffs: bone scaffolding, wooden shacks on the cliff, sliding platforms on laser triggers and thin walkways.
  • Car Race: the group piles into a small car up a short slope; with more than one player there are spots that use the chain to cross gaps, and the end gets harder.

The Whispering Vault (400–600 m)

Part 3 of 3. Get through the vault to the first checkpoint.

  1. BothWings of Freedom 2 (about 511 m): just after the first stairs past the lift, look behind you.
  2. BothFrom the lift, go straight down the corridor, swim across the pool, and take the lift on the far side.single source
  3. BothPress the four buttons in the room above to open its door.single source
  4. BothOutside, hang from the wires past the spike traps, then climb the long ladder past the turning gears.single source
  5. BothCross the rotating cages without touching the yellow lasers, then walk the logs slowly to the floating rock.single source
  6. BothClimb the sword, cross the floating columns and the long log to reach the Aqua Maze.single source
  7. BothIn the Aqua Maze, swim to the top left, take the top-right opening where it splits, then the upper opening.single source
  8. BothThe first Beginner checkpoint (576 m) is just outside the maze; step into its yellow ring to turn it on.single source

Where people tend to fall

  • In the last maze room, stay out of the middle: the hole there pulls you in and drops you. Leave by the corners.
  • The vault also has a puzzle that raises and lowers pillars.
