What each player can do here

P1 · Kait (JD in Act I)
  • The targeting laser calls the Hammer of Dawn down on whatever you mark.
P2 · Jack or Del
  • A co-op partner can play Jack as a support seat.
  • Jack fetches the transmitter from high up and opens the passages.

If your skill levels differ: Uneven pair: the newer player can take Jack, the support robot (scans, fetches, opens doors and revives), while the steadier shot takes a soldier seat and carries the gunfights. How to split the roles

First beacon

Part 1 of 3. Get through the opening streets.

  1. BothWait for the first beacon to calibrate; the Hammer of Dawn then clears the street.
  2. BothIn the ruined building, a Swarmak appears; shoot its burning blisters.
  3. BothClear the next building, Warden included, then hold the area with the targeting laser, marking Swarm for the Hammer.

Through the ruins

Part 2 of 3. Reach the Tomb of the Unknowns.

  1. BothIdle robots lie in the ruins; kill them from behind one at a time.
  2. BothHave Jack open the way on, then cross to the Tomb of the Unknowns.

Part 3 of 3. Clear the tomb and plant the last beacon.

  1. BothInside, blow up the Swarm nests with grenades to stop the reinforcements, and deal with the leaping Pouncer.
  2. BothAt Paduk's position, more nests open and Hunters attack; a Bastion and a Warden come last.
  3. BothHave Jack fetch the beacon, plant it, and defend it by calling the Hammer down with the laser.

  1. Blisters: Only its glowing blisters take damage; burst them from cover in the middle of the building.
