What each player can do here
- Lead glider: picks where the pair goes; swap the lead each time you stop.
- Each player controls one character in fights: one can shield while the other charges an attack, or stun a creature so the other lands a critical hit.
- Following glider: roams around the lead and uses a circle of flow on the ground to clean rust, pick up resources or slow a creature that chases you.
If your skill levels differ: Uneven pair: the steadier player leads the glide and picks the route; the newer player follows and cleans rust. Swap the lead whenever you stop; in fights, either of you can help the other back up. How to split the roles
Attacks and weaknesses
Part 1 of 3. Hit each creature with what it is weak to.
- BothEach creature is weak to Impact or to Blast; use the matching attack.
- BothShield blocks attacks, but shielding back to back with the same character wears it down until it gives out.
- BothDuo-Impact and Duo-Blast need both characters at once; holding them longer adds up to two charges, and releasing on the light-blue zone gives a max-power hit.
- BothWhen every enemy is down, Pacify All calms the whole group in one go.
Where people tend to fall
- PSNProfiles reads the aura colour: green means Impact, red means Blast.
When one of you falls
Part 2 of 3. Keep the pair alive.
- BothIf one character falls, the other's Shield turns into Help: hold it to bring them back up.
- BothA KO only counts when both characters fall in the same fight.
Getting stronger
Part 3 of 3. Level up the relationship and craft capsules.
- BothFights, meals, cooking and sleep fill the relationship bar; when it is full, Celebrate at the Nest to level up for more health and stronger attacks.
- BothAfter crafting opens up later, Omni-Impact and Omni-Blast capsules hit every enemy at once; pick the one that matches the group's weakness.
- BothStrong creatures come out at night; until you are well levelled, rest at a camp or the Nest instead of travelling in the dark.
Extras and notes
- The Haven wiki lists a Bigufurai on Guyatai that must be fought for the boot chips and the radar; it calls duo attacks the best way to beat it.
- Medkits and cures work only at the Nest or a camp; later, balms work anywhere outdoors.
