What each player can do here

P1 · Kirby
  • Kirby: the only one who copies abilities and uses Mouthful Mode. If Kirby goes down, both of you go back to the last checkpoint.
P2 · Bandana Waddle Dee
  • Bandana Waddle Dee fights with a spear: quick thrusts, a throw aimed with the stick, and a charged spin that lifts him into the air. He cannot float, but he can jump several times in mid-air.
  • He never copies abilities, but his spear hits harder while Kirby holds a stronger Copy Ability. In some Mouthful Modes, such as the car, he rides on top of Kirby and keeps throwing spears.

If your skill levels differ: Give Kirby to the more confident player: only Kirby gets Copy Abilities and Mouthful Mode, and a knocked-out Kirby sends you both back to the checkpoint, while a knocked-out Bandana Waddle Dee can be brought back. Spring-Breeze Mode gives both characters more health and makes enemies easier, and you can change the mode outside a stage. How to split the roles

Leongar

Part 1 of 3. Beat the leader of the Beast Pack.

  1. BothThe level is a lift ride and a corridor, then three fights in a row: Leongar, Fecto Forgo, then Fecto Elfilis. A Maxim Tomato and ability stands come before the first fight.
  2. BothWhen he drops low on all fours he is about to pounce. Move sideways out of his line.
  3. BothHis claw drag along the ground ends in a fiery upward swipe; run straight left or right.
  4. BothAt around 40% health his moves change: crossed energy slashes, a crawling bite you should run from, and a laser from his mouth that sweeps in one direction. Run sideways from the laser, then punish him.

Fecto Forgo

Part 2 of 3. Survive the chase and beat the creature.

  1. BothThis is a chase down a corridor: keep running ahead of the advancing mass, because touching it hurts. With a ranged ability, turn, fire and keep running.
  2. BothIt pauses and lunges at the spot where you stand. Stand on one side, move to the other side as it starts, and attack while it sits still afterwards.
  3. BothIt also lobs blobs of itself that leave damaging puddles. Step around them; it stops moving for a while after this attack too.

Where people tend to fall

  • IGN warns that melee abilities are risky here: it is the only boss that hurts Kirby and interrupts attacks just by touching.

Fecto Elfilis

Part 3 of 3. Win the final battle.

  1. BothAfter Fecto Forgo there is a last chance to change abilities and heal before the stairs to the final fight.single source
  2. BothWhen it stabs its spear into the ground and more spears rise up sending out shockwaves, get into the air.
  3. BothAt about 40% health the sky changes and meteors fall. Stand where there are no shadows, and when the huge one comes, run to a safe edge of the arena.
  4. BothIn the second phase it splits into copies and starts healing behind a blue bar. Hits on a copy make it vanish; find and hit the real one before the ring closes, or it gets health back.
  5. KirbyWhen its health runs out, Kirby uses Mouthful Mode to pull away the dome that holds Elfilin, wiggling the stick before the spear hits.
  6. KirbyThe finale is a drive in Big-Rig Mouth, the only time it appears in the game. It is mostly straight; keep smashing through and mash the stick and the attack button at the last prompt.

Boss

LeongarThe first Lab Discovera boss

  1. Claws: Claw swipes, a pounce, a claw drag with a fiery finish and a double-fist slam that sends out a shockwave.
  2. Possessed (about 40%): Energy slash waves, a crawling bite and a sweeping laser from the mouth.

Fecto ForgoThe second Lab Discovera boss

  1. Chase: Slithers after you down the corridor, lunges to bite and throws pieces of itself that leave puddles.

Fecto ElfilisThe final boss

  1. Spear: Flies and attacks from above, dashes with the spear and stabs the ground to raise shockwaves.
  2. Rift sky (about 40%): Meteors, one of them almost as big as the arena, and healing copies of itself.
  3. Big-Rig: A drive toward the creature in Big-Rig Mouth with button prompts at the end.

Extras and notes

  • Being knocked out costs Kirby 100 Star Coins and restarts the current section; there are no lives.
