What each player can do here

P1 · Kirby
  • Kirby: the adventure is Kirby's; the other players join around Kirby as another Kirby or one of Kirby's friends.
P2 · Players 2–4
  • Players 2 to 4 can join at any point as King Dedede, Meta Knight, Bandana Waddle Dee, or a Kirby in another colour. Joining costs a 1-Up, but it still works with no lives left (that player starts with half health).
  • Ride piggyback on another player, then press and release L or R together for a Team Attack.
  • A Super Ability swung at another player only knocks them back; it never hurts them.

If your skill levels differ: If anyone is new, turn on Helper Magolor: everyone gets a potion that doubles maximum health, and Magolor pulls players out of bottomless pits. Riding piggyback on another player also lets the two of you combine into a Team Attack. How to split the roles

The stages

Part 1 of 2. Clear the stages and collect the Energy Spheres.

  1. BothSuper Abilities appear in Stage 1 (Ultra Sword) and Stage 4 (Monster Flame).
  2. BothIn certain spots a Super Ability can tear open a rift to Another Dimension, where Sphere Doomers hold Energy Spheres.

Stage 5: Whispy Woods

Part 2 of 2. Beat Whispy Woods and recover the oars.

  1. KirbyBefore the arena you can pick Cutter, Fire or Beam.
  2. BothApples fall and bounce along the floor. Dodge them, break them, or inhale one and spit it back at the tree.
  3. BothIts puffs of air cannot be destroyed or sent back, so just dodge them.
  4. BothAt about half health it grows bigger and starts inhaling. If it catches you, wiggle the stick to break free. Afterwards it tires, which is the moment to attack.

Boss

Whispy WoodsThe Cookie Country boss

  1. First phase: Drops apples, spits air puffs and lowers enemies from its branches.
  2. Second phase (about half health): Grows larger, inhales and chews whoever it catches, and drops more enemies.

Extras and notes

  • 13 Energy Spheres: three each in Stages 1 to 3 and four in Stage 4. (WiKirby only)
  • Beating Whispy Woods returns the Lor Starcutter's oars.
  • TheGamer's tip: when a star-shaped portal opens in the sky, go through it; these side trips often hold extra items such as Energy Spheres.
