What each player can do here

P1 · Player 1
  • Spider-Man: his web-swing kick is his air attack and can hit several enemies at once.
P2 · Players 2–4
  • Nova: flies, and his Energy Beam is a ranged finisher; flying also keeps him clear of the bug swarm.

Nova Cruiser (tutorial)

Part 1 of 3. Learn the controls and the hero swap.

  1. BothThe opening mission is a short training stage: it covers the basic controls, special powers and swapping between your two heroes.
  2. BothIt has no challenges; every mission after it has three.

The streets

Part 2 of 3. Fight down the street toward the bank.

  1. Player 1Challenge: hit three enemies with one web-swing kick as Spider-Man; let a group bunch up first.
  2. Players 2–4Challenge: finish ten enemies with Nova's Energy Beam; the beam has to land the last hit.
  3. Players 2–4Challenge: take no damage from the swarming bugs; staying airborne as Nova or another flyer avoids them.

Where people tend to fall

  • Green shield enemies block from the front; hit them from behind.

Boss: Beetle

Part 3 of 3. Beat the possessed Beetle.

  1. BothWatch for a beam coming down from above and get out from under it.
  2. BothTwo extra bugs join him; clear them first, then go back to the boss.

  1. Beam from above: A beam strikes down from the sky and a pair of insect adds join the fight.
  • GameGrin: he spends much of the fight in the air, so use jump attacks, Spider-Man's swing or Nova's blasts.

Extras and notes

  • One cosmic cube is hidden in the tutorial, close to where the hero swap is taught.
  • Each player brings two heroes into a mission and can swap between them at any time; a duo special or a call-in from the partner hero helps when things go wrong.
  • There is no difficulty setting for the campaign; the fights adjust to how many people are playing, and anyone can drop in or out.
