What each player can do here
- Mario, Luigi or a Toad: the standard heroes, who get the full effect of every power-up, including the gliding Super Acorn.
- Toadette can take this seat too: the Super Crown turns her into Peachette, who floats, double-jumps and bounces back once out of a pit before landing again.
- Nabbit: enemy attacks never hurt him and his courses start with 100 extra seconds, but power-ups do nothing for him, and pits, lava, poison or getting crushed still cost a life.
- Either player can tuck into a bubble during multiplayer and float along until ready to rejoin; Deluxe uses two buttons held together for this.one guide
If your skill levels differ: Nintendo made Nabbit and Toadette for younger and less experienced players, so the newer player takes one of them. Nabbit ignores enemy hits, which means that seat mostly fails on pits and lava; the more confident player takes Mario, Luigi or a Toad and grabs the power-ups. How to split the roles
The courses
Part 1 of 3. Reach the final castle.
- BothSix courses, the fewest of any world.
Red-Hot Elevator Ride
Part 2 of 3. Ride the elevator up the castle.
- BothThis castle is one long ride up on an elevator platform over lava.
- BothKeep the elevator clear: anything extra that falls onto it, even a single coin or an enemy, makes it halt.
The Final Battle
Part 3 of 3. Beat Bowser twice.
- BothOn the way in, Bowser Jr. keeps diving at you from his Clown Car. He cannot be hurt yet, so wait for each dive and move on.
- BothWith several players, a synchronized ground pound or a stream of fireballs also hurts the giant Bowser.
Boss
BowserThe final boss
- Bridge: Bowser stands on a bridge. Dodge his fire, slip past when he jumps, and hit the switch at the far end to drop him.
- Giant Bowser: Magic makes him huge and Bowser Jr. joins in. When Bowser Jr. tries to crush you, jump on him, take his Clown Car, and ram it into Bowser's head. Three hits end the game.
