Pikmin 3 Deluxe: Formidable Oak walkthrough

The last area: carry an unconscious Olimar through a cave maze while a golden creature gives chase, then face the Plasm Wraith.

What each player can do here

P1 · Player 1
  • Left half of the split screen, leading their own captain and squad.
  • At the Bloominous Stemple puzzle, one captain goes across with ten Yellow Pikmin while the other lights the electrode.
P2 · Player 2
  • Right half of the split screen, and free to drop in or out mid-game. Either player can open the radar, hints or Onion menu, which pauses the game for both.

If your skill levels differ: Split the day's jobs rather than sharing one squad; that is how Nintendo pitches the second player. For a newer player, Deluxe adds lock-on targeting and optional hints that can be switched on. How to split the roles

Carrying Olimar

Part 1 of 2. Get Olimar through the cave.

  1. BothBring a balanced squad with plenty of every type; each one has a job in here.
  2. BothPikmin you assign to Olimar follow Brittany, who is marked with a flag.
  3. BothThe golden creature hunts Olimar; if it grabs him, attack it with Pikmin to get him back.
  4. BothBomb rocks from the dirt mound blow open a reinforced wall, a shortcut if the escape takes more than one day.

The final arena

Part 2 of 2. Beat the Plasm Wraith.

  1. BothThe chase ends in a round arena, where the creature turns into the Plasm Wraith and absorbs Olimar.

  1. Water cube: Blue Pikmin deal with the water bubble.
  2. Electric cube: Yellow Pikmin handle the electric one.
  3. Fire cube: Red Pikmin handle the fire one.
  4. Crystal cube: Only Rock Pikmin break the crystal cube.
  5. Flight: At about half health it takes to the air.
  • Rock Pikmin shrug off its direct attacks.
  • When it flies, Winged Pikmin pull it back down.
