What each player can do here

P1 · Mario
  • Mario: all the running, jumping and captures. There are no lives; when Mario is defeated he drops 10 coins and goes back into the level.
P2 · Cappy
  • Cappy: flies freely but only within a set range of Mario, jumps and ground-pounds on its own, clears hazards off the ground, and can give Mario about a second of float once per jump.
  • Until Player 2 presses a button, Cappy simply hovers above Mario's head, and it keeps moving even while Mario is inside a capture.

If your skill levels differ: The newer player takes Cappy: it cannot get lost, because it stays within range of Mario and simply rides on his head until moved. The Cappy player's clearest way to help is the float boost, once per jump. How to split the roles

The snow

Part 1 of 1. Earn enough Moons to leave and beat Rango again.

  1. BothThe Odyssey needs 10 Power Moons from the Snow Kingdom before it can fly on.
  2. BothOpen the four barriers in front of the Snowline Circuit, beat Rango, then win the Bound Bowl Grand Prix race.

Boss

RangoThe hat-throwing Broodal

  1. Ice rematch: Rango now throws two hats at a time and the floor is ice. Flip one hat with Cappy and bounce off it onto his head, as in the Lake Kingdom.
