Cult of the Lamb: Anura walkthrough

The frog region: three minibosses that summon helpers, then the second Bishop.

What each player can do here

P1 · The Lamb
  • Player one is the Lamb for the whole campaign; the Goat is player two. The update that added co-op made it local only.
P2 · The Goat
  • The Goat joins from the pause menu on a second controller. The two players can trade weapons, get extra damage fighting back to back, and land a critical hit when their attacks connect together.

If your skill levels differ: Weapons can be swapped between the Lamb and the Goat, so give the newer player whichever weapon they handle best and keep the two of you close for the back-to-back bonus. The store page also lists a difficulty choice. How to split the roles

Getting in

Part 1 of 5. Open the door and learn the run structure.

  1. BothAnura's door is on the right north of the cult and needs at least 7 Followers; extra runs through Darkwood are the easy way to find more.

Run 1: Gusion

Part 2 of 5. Beat the first miniboss.

  1. BothGusion jumps at you and the landing sends a short shockwave, so don't stand where it is about to come down.
  2. BothIt lays eggs that hatch into red frogs. Don't let the small frogs pile up, but keep most of your damage on Gusion.
  3. BothRoll away from the cluster of fireballs it spits every so often.

Run 2: Eligos

Part 3 of 5. Beat the second miniboss.

  1. BothEligos puffs out a swarm of homing flies. Melee hits clear them; left alone they follow you around.
  2. BothIts glowing charge leaves two trails of fireballs that fan out. Those can't be destroyed, so roll through them.

Where people tend to fall

  • IGN also warns of a quick lunging bite; roll back or aside. TechRaptor says the charge comes more often after half health.

Run 3: Zepar

Part 4 of 5. Beat the third miniboss.

  1. BothZepar moves like Gusion: jumps with a landing shockwave and keeps bringing in red frogs.
  2. BothIts explosive insects mark their landing spot on the floor first. Get out of the marked area before they land.

Where people tend to fall

  • TechRaptor advises short bursts instead of full combos, since it can start a chain of jumps at any time.

Run 4: Heket

Part 5 of 5. Beat the Bishop of Anura.

  1. BothHeket's tongue strike is aimed at the spot you stand on. Get off that spot just before it lands; an early roll still gets caught.
  2. BothIt also slams down from jumps and sends flies. Swat the black swarm flies, and keep running from the exploding ones instead of hitting them.
  3. BothRed frogs keep pouring in from both sides. Don't chase them; kill a few only when you need Fervour.
  4. BothAt about one third of its health Heket leaves the arena and two large frog enemies come in. Beat both, one at a time, to bring Heket back.
  5. BothWhen Heket returns it adds rapid tongue lashes and attacks harder. Stay mobile and finish it.

Boss

GusionThe first miniboss

  1. Attacks: Jump with a landing shockwave, egg-laying that hatches red frogs, and fireball clusters.

EligosThe second miniboss

  1. Attacks: Homing fly swarms and a charge that trails two spreading lines of fireballs.

ZeparThe third miniboss

  1. Attacks: Gusion's jumps plus explosive insects that land on marked spots, with red frogs joining in.

HeketThe Bishop of this region

  1. Main fight: Tongue strikes, jump slams, fly swarms and exploding flies, with frogs streaming in.
  2. About one third health: Leaves and sends two large frog enemies.
  3. Return: Comes back with rapid tongue lashes on top of its other attacks.

Extras and notes

  • Beating Heket gives another Heart of a Heretic, and one more of the chains holding The One Who Waits comes off.
