What each player can do here

P1 · The Lamb
  • Player one is the Lamb for the whole campaign; the Goat is player two. The update that added co-op made it local only.
P2 · The Goat
  • The Goat joins from the pause menu on a second controller. The two players can trade weapons, get extra damage fighting back to back, and land a critical hit when their attacks connect together.

If your skill levels differ: Weapons can be swapped between the Lamb and the Goat, so give the newer player whichever weapon they handle best and keep the two of you close for the back-to-back bonus. The store page also lists a difficulty choice. How to split the roles

Getting in

Part 1 of 4. Open the last door and make the choice.

  1. BothThe Gateway needs 20 Followers. Inside, you pick from three weapons and three curses before walking up to The One Who Waits.
  2. BothKneeling ends the game with the bad ending and reloads your last save afterwards; refusing starts the fights.

Baal

Part 2 of 4. Beat the first servant.

  1. BothBaal swings and slams its spear pole as it roams; get out of reach or roll at the last moment.
  2. BothWhen it kneels, red marks appear: two crossing lines or a cluster that follows you. Leave the marks before spikes come up.

Where people tend to fall

  • IGN adds that it floats up to bring in a couple of cultists; clear them quickly.

Aym

Part 3 of 4. Beat the second servant straight after.

  1. BothAym teleports and fires small rings of shots, usually three in a row. Hit it when it lands again.
  2. BothIts kneeling spike attack fires lines that turn with you, plus a faster cluster that seeks you. Keep moving.

The One Who Waits

Part 4 of 4. Beat the final boss in two forms.

  1. BothFirst form: it ducks into the ground and pops up elsewhere, so keep looking for it between attacks.
  2. BothSpike lines follow red marks across the floor; keep moving, and roll through if a wall pins you.
  3. BothWith its hands raised it sends rings of fireballs toward you one after another. Get distance so each ring opens up before it reaches you.
  4. BothA turning cross of fireball lines surrounds it. Track the arms and don't get caught between two of them.
  5. BothNow and then it drops to the ground for a moment; that is free damage.
  6. BothSecond form: a huge demon at the back of the arena fights through three eyes that come up from the floor. Hit one eye in the pause after they fire.
  7. BothEach time an eye goes down, lines of fireballs sweep the arena. Move between them and roll through the last ones.
  8. BothThe last eye attacks faster. When the boss slumps at the end, walk up and finish it.

Where people tend to fall

  • IGN rolls through each arm of the turning fireball cross and attacks between rolls; Gamepressure backs away from it instead.
  • IGN says the brief collapse in the first form comes from hitting it hard enough; Gamepressure ties it to losing half its health.

Boss

BaalThe first servant

  1. Attacks: Spear swings and slams, and kneeling spike attacks in crossing lines or a seeking cluster.

AymThe second servant

  1. Attacks: Teleports and fires small rings of shots, plus turning spike lines and a faster seeking cluster.

The One Who WaitsThe final boss

  1. First form: Moves through the ground, sends spike lines, rings of fireballs and a turning cross of fireball lines.
  2. Second form: Three eyes share the fight; after each one falls, fireball lines sweep the arena.

Extras and notes

  • After the fight you choose to spare it, which adds it as a Follower, or to kill it, which unlocks a trophy blueprint for the cult.
