What each player can do here

P1 · Player 1
  • All four heroes move the same way; only their animations and sounds differ, so pick whoever you like.
P2 · Players 2–4
  • Team moves only work with a partner: leapfrog over each other for a longer jump, drop a rope from a ledge for the other to climb, and hug to add a heart for both of you (Gamereactor calls that heart temporary).

If your skill levels differ: No seat is harder than another. Each player sets their own starting hearts, so a newer player can take three (or the infinite-health setting) while the other takes fewer. Our suggestionThe surer player goes up first and drops a rope, and you hug whenever one of you is low. How to split the roles

What's That Sound?

Part 1 of 5. Follow the picnic signs and meet Toku.

  1. BothHead right after the picnic signs; this first stretch teaches hopping over enemies and using bounce pads.single source
  2. BothToku, who leads the Hokuns, asks you to recover three stolen tomes and teaches you the spell that turns a beaten thief to stone.

A Lead … Kinda

  1. BothMazzy, a pink alligator who builds gadgets, gives everyone Boost Jump: a second jump at the top of the first.
  2. BothGo back and boost across the gap heading west. The main quest is always the red Mickey flag on your map.single source

Things Are Looking Up

Part 3 of 5. Find a way up to Terrarium Town.

Thief #1 (boss)

Part 5 of 5. Drop things on the thief's head by bouncing off switches.

  1. BothYou never hit the thief yourself. Wall Jump up to the yellow switches on the back wall; each one bounces you higher, toward the next.
  2. BothHit every switch and something heavy falls on the thief. Each round adds spikes and falling hazards, then the arena changes.
  3. BothIn the last phase the switches blink in and out over conveyor belts: take them one or two at a time instead of chaining them.
  4. BothCast the spell to turn the thief to stone and take the Tome of Engineering.

Boss

PostOfficer (Thief #1)The first tome thief

  1. Phase 1: Six yellow switches, three on each side. Lighting all of them drops a capsule on the thief; spiked hazards and falling blades are added each round.
  2. Phase 2: A gate drops, the layout changes and conveyor belts appear. The job is still the switches, around more spikes.
  3. Phase 3: Only conveyor belts remain, and the switches pop in and out of the wall, so wait for each one to show.
  • Touching the thief does not hurt you, so you can pass straight through it on the way to a switch.
  • TheGamer counts eight switches in the last phase and notes that a switch stays down once hit.

Extras and notes

  • Glimt comes in clusters of three. Spend it on the Glimt reward panels: each finished picture adds a heart.
  • Mickey Memorabilia comes in 23 themed sets of three pieces, often in hidden rooms behind a wall with a small chip in it.
