What each player can do here
- Kirby: the only one who copies abilities and uses Mouthful Mode. If Kirby goes down, both of you go back to the last checkpoint.
- Bandana Waddle Dee fights with a spear: quick thrusts, a throw aimed with the stick, and a charged spin that lifts him into the air. He cannot float, but he can jump several times in mid-air.
- He never copies abilities, but his spear hits harder while Kirby holds a stronger Copy Ability. In some Mouthful Modes, such as the car, he rides on top of Kirby and keeps throwing spears.
If your skill levels differ: Give Kirby to the more confident player: only Kirby gets Copy Abilities and Mouthful Mode, and a knocked-out Kirby sends you both back to the checkpoint, while a knocked-out Bandana Waddle Dee can be brought back. Spring-Breeze Mode gives both characters more health and makes enemies easier, and you can change the mode outside a stage. How to split the roles
Reaching the boss
Part 1 of 2. Rescue enough Waddle Dees to open Collector in the Sleepless Valley.
- BothCollector in the Sleepless Valley opens after you have rescued 25 Waddle Dees in Originull Wasteland.
- BothThe Wild Hammer blueprint is in Alivel Mall (Staff Side); IGN recommends upgrading it before the boss.
Collector in the Sleepless Valley
Part 2 of 2. Beat Sillydillo.
- BothEarly on he chases you and swings a cage low around himself. Run away and get into the air to clear it; if you are behind him when he misses, he is briefly confused and open to attack. Getting caught is very dangerous: shake free fast.
- BothNext he curls up and rolls at you three times in a row. Dodge to his side each time; after the third roll he is stunned, which is the moment to charge your strongest attack.
- BothLater he dances with one of his robot dolls and spins around the arena. Touching him hurts, so run and stay clear.
- BothAfter the dance he throws two dolls that drift toward you, then rolls again. Keep moving around the dolls and watch for the roll.
Where people tend to fall
- If Kirby does not break out of the cage in time, Sillydillo slams it down and Kirby is knocked out no matter how much health is left.
