What each player can do here

P1 · Hero 1
  • Aloy and her bow from the start; Varl (spear), Teersa (bombs) and Erend (hammer) join as the story unlocks them. Heroes only gain levels while you play them.
P2 · Hero 2
  • The same heroes to pick from. The camera is shared, with no split screen, and if you drift too far behind the game pulls you back to your partner. Until Rost dies early in the story, the second player can play as him.

If your skill levels differ: A fall costs nothing, since a broken hero just rebuilds; only losing every heart in a fight sends you back to the start of that section.Our suggestionFor a mixed pair: Story difficulty or the Player Invulnerability option. The Final Battle

Part 1 of 1. Bring down the Deathbringer.

  1. BothThe last chapter is a single level, The Final Battle, against the Deathbringer.
  2. BothAt first it cannot be hurt: keep moving through the missile clusters and jump over the fire rings that spread across the floor.
  3. BothWhen its legs light up, hit all four. Once they are broken it collapses, stunned, and that is the time for your biggest attacks.
  4. BothIt calls in more machines as its health drops. Take them out quickly; they often drop gadgets and weapons.
  5. BothSave a Brick Separator for the collapse; it does heavy damage to the legs and the stunned body.

Where people tend to fall

  • A ring of Corruption runs around the arena; don't get knocked into it.

Boss

DeathbringerThe final boss

  1. Opening: Clusters of missiles and expanding fire rings; nothing you do hurts it yet.
  2. Legs: Its legs light up; break all four and it falls over, stunned.
  3. Later on: Laser attacks join in, and it summons machines more often as its health drops.
  • Game Rant says the legs glow blue; Sportskeeda says yellow. Either way, the lit legs are the targets.
  • Game Rant finds Teersa's bombs hard to land on the legs in this fight.
