What each player can do here

P1 · Atlas
  • Atlas carries a portal gun with a pair of blue and purple portals; the two pairs work together, so either of you can step through the other's portals.
P2 · P-body
  • P-body carries a portal gun with a pair of orange and red portals; the two pairs work together, so either of you can step through the other's portals.

If your skill levels differ: Both bots carry the same kind of portal gun. Pings let you mark spots and time moves without talking, and failing costs little because a destroyed bot is rebuilt within seconds. How to split the roles

Cooperative Funnels

Part 1 of 9. Ride and redirect funnels across the chamber, then open the dual door.

  1. AtlasAtlas puts one portal on the panel the funnel strikes or sits beneath, then a second on the wall beyond.
  2. P-bodyP-body rides the funnel, then orange at its end and red on a higher panel extends it across the room.
  3. P-bodyP-body is pressed against a button at the funnel end, which raises a platform below.
  4. AtlasAtlas lands on the raised platform, moves a portal to the panel by the door, and the funnel carries P-body to the dual door.
  5. BothThe bridge only works while one player holds the button down.

Where people tend to fall

  • Shredders are the chamber hazard, and a single wrong move can be fatal.

Funnel Drill

Part 2 of 9. Route a funnel through the fizzler and carry a ball to unlock the exit.

  1. AtlasAtlas holds the floor button to open a wall gap, then aims purple to route the funnel through the fizzler.single source
  2. P-bodyP-body steps onto the faith plate into the funnel, crosses the fizzler, and releases a ball from a pedestal button.
  3. AtlasAtlas moves purple onto panels seen through the gap, shifting the funnel to where the ball needs it.
  4. P-bodyP-body sticks the ball into the funnel and places a portal in the middle of the panel it strikes.
  5. BothThe ball must interrupt the red laser, which unlocks the exit.

Funnel Catch

Part 3 of 9. Cut and reroute funnels so the cube and both players reach the exit.

  1. AtlasAtlas puts purple on the angled panel to cut the funnel, dropping Atlas into the blue portal.
  2. P-bodyP-body stays on the button so the ceiling barrier stays down.
  3. AtlasAtlas is flung into the barrier held in place by P-body and lands in the funnel toward the exit.
  4. P-bodyP-body steps off the button, fetches the cube Atlas dropped, and places it on the button.

Funnel Laser

Part 4 of 9. Redirect funnels and a laser so both players reach the exit stairs.

  1. AtlasAtlas steps onto the faith plate to be shot across, then drops into the funnel toward the far room.
  2. P-bodyP-body jumps onto the faith plate right after Atlas and places a portal where the funnel ends to redirect it upward.
  3. P-bodyP-body swaps the blue portal for an orange one and puts red so the funnel runs under the cube dispenser.
  4. AtlasAtlas drops a pivot cube into the funnel from the pedestal button and snags it out of the funnel.
  5. BothThe cube must be routed into the laser receiver so the stairs rise to the exit.

Where people tend to fall

  • Falling to your death is the listed hazard in this chamber.

Cooperative Polarity

Part 5 of 9. Reverse a funnel to move a cube into the receptacle that opens the exit.

  1. AtlasAtlas places blue where the funnel ends and orange on the wall to the right, near the exit tunnel.
  2. P-bodyP-body steps onto the faith plate into the funnel, rides it to the upper alcove, and picks up the cube.
  3. AtlasAtlas stands on the button, which reverses the funnel so it flows back toward P-body.
  4. AtlasAtlas shifts the orange portal to the panel facing the wall receptacle, above the exit tunnel.
  5. P-bodyP-body sets the cube on the faith plate so it is thrown into the funnel, which has to carry it to the receptacle.

Where people tend to fall

  • Falling to your death is a hazard here, and Goo is also listed.

Funnel Hop

Part 6 of 9. Ride funnel routes past fizzlers and crushers while one player waits.

  1. AtlasAtlas places blue on the ceiling where the funnel ends and purple behind the fizzler, so the funnel runs through it.
  2. P-bodyP-body hops into the funnel and, after the fizzler, shoots orange where the funnel ends and red to the side.
  3. P-bodyP-body stands on the button to flip the funnel's direction, then steps off to flip it back.
  4. AtlasAtlas rides the funnel and puts purple on the panel facing the exit platform, the panel with the red portal.single source
  5. BothOne player must stay on the far side and help the partner reach the door.

Where people tend to fall

  • Material Emancipation Grills reset the portals, which can drop players to their death.
  • Crushers sit at the funnel's far end, and riding the funnel there is fatal.

Advanced Polarity

Part 7 of 9. Reverse funnels and launch with faith plates to reach the exit.

  1. AtlasAtlas goes through the right fizzler, places a portal across the goo, then stands on the button to reverse the funnel.
  2. P-bodyP-body steps onto the faith plate to be flung across, then places portals to make a vertical funnel.
  3. P-bodyP-body stands on the platform's button, which uncovers a portal surface at the far end.
  4. AtlasAtlas is launched up through a fizzler and moves purple under P-body to carry them up to where Atlas is.
  5. P-bodyP-body steps off the switch, hops into the funnel, and exits under the horizontal fizzler.

Funnel Maze

Part 8 of 9. Route the funnel past crushers and spikes, then drop the cube into the receptacle.

  1. AtlasAtlas places blue where the funnel ends and purple to its left, so the funnel runs through the fizzler.
  2. P-bodyP-body rides the funnel through the fizzler, then shoots orange at the funnel end and red under its own feet.
  3. AtlasAtlas uses the button to move P-body back and forth around the crusher, pressing P-body against it while it is raised.
  4. P-bodyP-body moves red to the panel between the spike plates, so the funnel passes under a crusher.
  5. P-bodyP-body drops the cube into the receptacle, which creates stairs to the exit.

Where people tend to fall

  • A looping spike panel drops from the ceiling to crush whoever is in its path.
  • A turret guards the Companion Cube; one player knocks it over with the cube.

Turret Warehouse

Part 9 of 9. Block turrets with light bridges and portals while riding funnels to the office.

  1. AtlasAtlas puts blue where the hard light surface hits the wall, and purple on a panel to shield the turrets.
  2. P-bodyP-body places orange where the funnel ends and red into the wall so the funnel drops both players into the redirected funnel.
  3. AtlasAtlas looks up and left and fires purple onto the panel there, which shields you from the turrets.
  4. BothRide the funnel to the office, then put the disc into the player on the far side of the room.

Where people tend to fall

  • If P-body dies, the funnel portals fizzle and both players fall.
  • After the cube, the funnel takes riders to a spike plate, so death is unavoidable there.
