What each player can do here

P1 · Gatherer
  • Gatherer: holds the axe or the pickaxe, carries wood and iron to the Storage wagon, and grabs the bucket when the engine runs hot.
P2 · Track layer
  • Track layer: takes finished track off the Crafter, lays it ahead of the train, clears the path when no track is ready and deals with the creatures.

If your skill levels differ: The wiki and Blueprinted both say only one player should lay track, and a lower difficulty means more resources and less unbreakable rock. Our suggestionWhen skill levels differ: give track laying to the steadier player, and let the newer player own one tool and keep resources coming. How to split the roles

Snow and ice

Part 1 of 3. Snow slows you; ice under it speeds you up.

  1. BothSnow slows you down, stops dashes, and two layers of it bury resources, track and tools on the ground.
  2. BothWhere there are no rocks or trees the ground is ice, and you move faster on it.
  3. BothThe Light wagon melts snow every 10 seconds, or every 5 with a Supercharger next to it; walking with a full bucket melts it too.
  4. GathererWalrus milk melts the snow under your feet.
  5. BothBlack rock under snow looks like ordinary rock; check before you swing at it.
  6. BothWater is still liquid and is bridged with wood.

Yetis

Part 2 of 3. They knock everything out of your hands.

  1. BothA yeti stomps the ground and everyone near it drops what they carry.

Before the Lava biome

Part 3 of 3. Change the train for what comes next.

  1. BothBoth guides advise selling the Light wagon before you buy the next engine, once its snow-melting job is done.
  2. BothFrom the Lava biome on, bridges are stone, not wood, so arrive with iron to spare.
