Yoshi's Crafted World: Origami Gardens to Acorn Forest walkthrough

The route splits after Origami Gardens; this page follows the desert and sky worlds to Spike the Piranha and the red Dream Gem.

What each player can do here

P1 · Player 1
  • Player 1 plays a Yoshi with the full move set: flutter jump, ground pound, eat enemies and throw eggs. The camera mostly follows Player 1.
  • When the partner rides on your back, you steer both Yoshis and your ground pound sends out a shockwave, but you cannot throw eggs until the rider jumps off.
P2 · Player 2
  • Player 2 is a second Yoshi in another colour with the same moves. Either Yoshi can eat the other and spit them out.
  • Jump onto Player 1's back to ride: you give up moving, but you can throw eggs without running out.

If your skill levels differ: The rider does no moving and never runs out of eggs, while the carrier handles the jumps. Mellow Mode (wings for endless flutter, only one heart lost per hit) can be switched on at any time, even mid-level.Our suggestionFor a newer player: ride on the other Yoshi's back. Origami Gardens and Dino Desert

Part 1 of 3. Pick a route and cross the desert.

  1. BothOrigami Gardens is a fork: clearing it opens both Dino Desert and Pastel Pathway, so you pick which branch to play first.
  2. BothIn Skelesaurus Wrecks a dinosaur skeleton chases you through the level, so keep moving.

Sky-High Heights

Part 2 of 3. Reach Acorn Forest.

  1. BothAltitude Adjustment has you flying a plane: stand at the front to dip and at the back to climb.

Spike the Piranha (Acorn Forest boss)

Part 3 of 3. Win the red Dream Gem.

  1. BothSpike spits spiked balls and enemies; eat the enemies to stock up on eggs while you dodge.
  2. BothHe then spits out Party Balls. Egg the one with the spiked-ball picture directly above his head: the ball drops on him and hurts him.
  3. BothBetween hits he hides in the background and sends rows of piranha buds running at you; jump over them.
  4. BothFor the last hit he plants himself in the middle and fires bouncing spiked balls that get in the way of your shots; wait for an opening, then break the ball above him.

Boss

Spike the PiranhaThe world boss

  1. Party Balls: Break the spiked-ball Party Ball above his head so it lands on him.
  2. Bud waves: From the background he sends waves of buds; jump them, then repeat.
  3. Centre stage: Stuck in the middle, he sprays bouncing spiked balls; break the last Party Ball.
