What each player can do here
- The only seat that sees the bomb. Turns it, reads out what is on each module and does the cutting, pressing and holding.
- Holds the Bomb Defusal Manual and never sees the bomb; works out from the manual what the Defuser has to do and tells them.
If your skill levels differ: Wire Sequences counts wires across panels, so the Expert needs a running tally. Our suggestionWith two Experts, one keeps the tally while the other reads the tables. How to split the roles
Passwords
Part 1 of 4. Five letter wheels, one real word.
- DefuserUse the arrows above and below each of the five slots to cycle through its letters, and read out the letters each slot offers.
- BothThe Expert compares them with the word list; only one word can be spelled. Set it and press submit.
Morse Code
Part 2 of 4. A blinking light spells a word.
- DefuserWatch the light: a short flash is a dot, a long one a dash, a longer pause separates letters, and a very long pause means the word starts again.
- BothThe Expert decodes the word and reads back its frequency; the Defuser turns the radio to it and presses TX.
Complicated Wires
Part 3 of 4. Each wire is its own yes or no.
- DefuserGo wire by wire from one end: whether it has red, blue or both in it, whether the LED above it is on, and whether there is a star under it.
- ExpertThe Expert checks each wire on the Venn diagram and says cut or leave. Some answers depend on the serial number's last digit being even, a parallel port, or two or more batteries.
Wire Sequences
Part 4 of 4. Panels of wires counted across the whole module.
- DefuserFor each wire on the panel, say its colour and the letter (A, B or C) it ends at.
- ExpertThe counts carry over from panel to panel, so the Expert keeps a running tally for each colour.
Good to know
- Do not press down to the next panel until this panel is finished; you can go back up, but you cannot move on early.
