What each player can do here
- Kirby: copies abilities and throws Friend Hearts at enemies to turn them into friends, for a party of up to four.
- A friend: a new player presses a button on a connected controller, and the friend appears with Kirby's current ability. Players can drop in or out at any time; empty seats are filled by computer-controlled friends.
- Friend Abilities: the player with a weapon ability raises it, and a player with an element (fire, ice, water, wind, electricity) hits it to power it up.
If your skill levels differ: Kirby builds the party with Friend Hearts, so the steadier player usually takes Kirby. A newer player can join as a friend for one stage and leave whenever they like, since anyone can drop in or out at any time. How to split the roles
The planets
Part 1 of 7. Clear the planets to open Jambandra Base.
- BothFar-Flung Starlight Heroes opens once Heavenly Hall is cleared; reaching the last level means beating Hyness at The Divine Terminus.single source
- BothEach planet is paired with a moon that opens once the planet is cleared, and the pairs can be done in any order. The planets end with mid-bosses; six of the moons end with a boss.single source
Falluna Moon: Yggy Woods
Part 2 of 7. Beat both trees.
- BothWhispy Woods comes first, then the bigger Yggy Woods.
- BothYggy fights like Whispy but drops cherries, spiked enemies and other things from its branches; dodge what falls and watch for the spikes after a barrage. Like Whispy, it catches fire if all four of you hit it with fire at once.
Mareen Moon: Goldon & Silvox
Part 3 of 7. Beat the metal gatekeepers.
- BothA tougher Pon & Con: they run the platforms with their young. Dodge often and attack from the level below them rather than the one they run on.
- BothIn the second phase the arena widens with shutters in the middle that split the team. They open when the bosses pass, and attacks can break them.
Grott Moon: Grand Mam
Part 4 of 7. Beat the armored boss from the Friend Star.
- BothThis fight is flown on the Friend Star only, and her armor makes plain shots bounce off.
- BothCut loose one of her bomb arms (Cutter or Sword), then light its fuse with fire so it blows up on her. With the armor off, shoot her until she rebuilds it. Swap the lead friend to change the star's attack.
- BothIf nobody has the right ability, she summons enemies who carry them (Sir Kibble, Blade Knight, Burning Leo).
Blizzno and Sizzlai Moon: the sisters again
Part 5 of 7. Beat Francisca and Flamberge a second time.
- BothFrancisca ends Blizzno Moon and Flamberge ends Sizzlai Moon.
Where people tend to fall
- WiKirby: both rematches are more elaborate versions of the Jambastion fights. Fire still stops Francisca's axe, and ice or water still put out Flamberge's flames and her cannon fuse.
Gabbel Moon: Kracko and Twin Kracko
Part 6 of 7. Beat the storm clouds.
- BothKracko is fought first, then Twin Kracko straight after.
- BothTheir attacks come straight down, so when the clouds charge up, get out from under them. A Parasol or Chumbrella shields against the rain.
The Divine Terminus: Zan Partizanne and Hyness
Part 7 of 7. Win the last two fights of the level.
- BothJambandra Base opens after every other main stage; The Divine Terminus follows it and ends with Zan Partizanne and then Hyness.
- BothHyness opens with fire, ice and lightning attacks; most are easy to dodge, and the dark orbs he throws can be destroyed.
- BothLater he uses the three sisters as weapons and shields. When he rolls around the arena on them in a Friend Circle, do not fight: wait it out in a floor corner, where it cannot hit you.
Where people tend to fall
- While he hides behind the sisters as a shield he cannot be hurt; hitting the sisters does not damage him.
Boss
Yggy WoodsThe giant tree
- Tree: Drops cherries and enemies, spits air puffs, tries to inhale the team, then shakes down a cherry storm.
Goldon & SilvoxThe metal gatekeepers
- Platforms: Run and roll across the platforms while bombs drop from the ceiling; the arena grows and is split by shutters later.
Grand MamThe armored boss
- Armor: Charges the Friend Star and fires her bomb arms; only open after a bomb blows up on her.
Twin KrackoThe storm clouds
- Storm: Rain and lightning poured straight down, plus swooping tackles.
HynessThe cult leader
- Hooded: Elemental fire, ice and lightning attacks and dark orbs.
- With the sisters: Swings and throws the three sisters, shields himself with them and rolls around on them like a Friend Circle.
