What each player can do here

P1 · Hero 1
  • Aloy and her bow from the start; Varl (spear), Teersa (bombs) and Erend (hammer) join as the story unlocks them. Heroes only gain levels while you play them.
P2 · Hero 2
  • The same heroes to pick from. The camera is shared, with no split screen, and if you drift too far behind the game pulls you back to your partner. Until Rost dies early in the story, the second player can play as him.

If your skill levels differ: A fall costs nothing, since a broken hero just rebuilds; only losing every heart in a fight sends you back to the start of that section.Our suggestionFor a mixed pair: Story difficulty or the Player Invulnerability option. The story levels

Part 1 of 2. Build a Sawtooth and stop the plan to burn the forest for fuel.

Sawtooth (boss)

Part 2 of 2. Beat the Sawtooth in the last level.

  1. BothThe Sawtooth, a fast T. rex machine, waits at the end of the chapter in Instructions Not Required.
  2. BothIt calls in smaller machines early. Keep moving and clear them rather than standing still to trade hits.
  3. BothScan it to see its weak points (on top of the leg joints and at the tail, per Sportskeeda) and keep hitting them on the move.

Boss

  1. The fight: It charges in fast and keeps summoning smaller corrupted machines while it attacks.
  • Its ranged attacks are meteors marked by red circles, fireballs that set the ground alight, and a leap across the screen. The Shell-Walker Shield gadget reflects the fireballs but not the meteors.
  • Throw the explosive barrels around the arena at it to set it on fire. At half health it is stunned for a moment, which is the time to unload.
