What each player can do here

P1 · Luigi
  • Luigi plays this whole opening alone: Gooigi only arrives after the RIP Suites boss.
  • Luigi holds the Poltergust G-00 and the flashlight: stun ghosts with the Strobulb, then vacuum and slam them. The run only ends if Luigi runs out of health.
P2 · Gooigi
  • No seat yet. The second player joins once E. Gadd hands over Gooigi after the RIP Suites boss.

Escape to the garage

Part 1 of 3. Get away from King Boo and pick up the Poltergust G-00.

  1. LuigiAfter the night in the 5th-floor suite, run down the hallway away from King Boo and dive into the laundry chute at the end.
  2. LuigiFollow Polterpup from the laundry room to the garage; the Poltergust is inside the car there. Polterpup then walks you through the vacuum and flashlight controls.

Free E. Gadd

Part 2 of 3. Open the way upstairs, get the Dark-Light and rescue the professor.

  1. LuigiIn the lobby, the gold key for the locked door sits behind the check-in desk.
  2. LuigiUpstairs, a second key opens a safe holding the Dark-Light, which you use on E. Gadd to free him.
  3. LuigiTake E. Gadd back down to the garage, where the bellhop ghost attacks.

Part 3 of 3. Beat the first boss in the garage.

  1. LuigiHe hurls suitcases at you. Dodge one, flash him with the Strobulb while he recovers, then vacuum him and slam him into the floor.

Where people tend to fall

  • When he turns invisible, watch for luggage and furniture he bumps into, then flash that spot.

  1. The fight: Wait out a suitcase throw, stun him with the Strobulb, then vacuum and slam. Winning gives the buttons for the Grand Lobby and RIP Suites.

Achievements and extras

  • You leave with the Suction Shot and the Virtual Boo for maps and objectives.
