What each player can do here

P1 · Leader
  • The camera follows whoever is making progress at the front; give that seat to the player who knows the stage.
P2 · Partner
  • A partner who falls off the screen can warp back to the leader, so lagging behind costs nothing.

If your skill levels differ: Let the stronger player lead. The newer player can drop in and out at any time and warps back to the front when left behind. How to split the roles

Act 1: the piggy bank

Part 1 of 2. Beat it with no rings.

  1. BothIt sucks up all your rings at the start, so a single hit costs you the try.
  2. BothKeep running around the round room so the arena turns; when it fires its big laser it comes close enough to hit.

Where people tend to fall

  • CBR: its bombs can't be destroyed without getting hurt; wait for them to go off.

Act 2: Fang

Part 2 of 2. Beat Fang from the floating platform.

  1. BothThe whole fight is on a floating platform you steer; dodge his fire balls, then jump up and hit him.
  2. BothBetween rounds you ride through lava falls and flame vents; take it slowly.
  3. BothWhen he hides behind blue hexagon shields, break a gap in them and hit him through it.

Boss

Piggy bankThe Act 1 boss

  1. Ring grab: Takes all your rings when the fight starts.
  2. Laser: Chases you round the room and fires a big laser.

Fang the HunterThe Act 2 boss

  1. Fire balls and lasers: Fire balls, then lasers that set off lava.
  2. Hexagon shield: Hides behind rotating hexagon shields.
  3. Rockets: Fires rockets at targeted spots.

Extras and notes

  • The Avatar Emerald Power sends clones at everything on screen; several guides use it to finish bosses faster.
