What each player can do here

P1 · Leader
  • The camera follows whoever is making progress at the front; give that seat to the player who knows the stage.
P2 · Partner
  • A partner who falls off the screen can warp back to the leader, so lagging behind costs nothing.
  • Amy's double jump makes several boss fights easier; CBR names it for the clown fight, the flooded Lagoon City fight and the final boss.

If your skill levels differ: Let the stronger player lead. The newer player can drop in and out at any time and warps back to the front when left behind. How to split the roles

Act 1: the jellyfish robot

Part 1 of 2. Dodge the shocks and hit its head.

  1. BothIt drops small enemies first; spin through them.
  2. BothWhen a tentacle goes into the water, jump as the shock hits the floor, then hit the head.

Act 2: Eggman

Part 2 of 2. Climb out of the flood and hit the machine.

  1. BothThe arena floods: climb the platforms to the surface and hit the red part of his machine.
  2. BothThe currents from his missiles lift you higher; use them to reach him.

Where people tend to fall

  • Mind the air: grab bubbles if the drowning timer starts.

Boss

Jellyfish robotThe Act 1 boss

  1. Shock: Sends electricity through the water floor.
  2. Electric orbs: Fires electric orbs once damaged.

Dr. Eggman (Lagoon City)The Act 2 boss

  1. Flood: Floods the arena; you climb up through the water.
  2. Missiles: Drill missiles whose currents push you up.
  • The Water Emerald Power gets you up through the water faster.
