What each player can do here

P1 · Gatherer
  • Gatherer: holds the axe or the pickaxe, carries wood and iron to the Storage wagon, and grabs the bucket when the engine runs hot.
P2 · Track layer
  • Track layer: takes finished track off the Crafter, lays it ahead of the train, clears the path when no track is ready and deals with the creatures.

If your skill levels differ: The wiki and Blueprinted both say only one player should lay track, and a lower difficulty means more resources and less unbreakable rock. Our suggestionWhen skill levels differ: give track laying to the steadier player, and let the newer player own one tool and keep resources coming. How to split the roles

Terrain and water

Part 1 of 4. Wood bridges, rain and the night.

  1. BothRivers and ponds are everywhere; hold wood over the water to build a bridge.
  2. BothRain falls only in this biome. It cools the engine and fills the bucket by itself.
  3. BothA day and night cycle and fog make the path hard to see; pick up bolts while it is light.

Bandits

Part 2 of 4. The only threat in the Plains.

  1. Track layerBandits grab any resources left lying around and toss them off the edge of the map.
  2. Track layerKill them with the axe, the pickaxe or dynamite.

Animals

Part 3 of 4. Cows and ducks.

  1. GathererWith a Milk wagon, cow milk triples tool power, so one hit breaks a tree or rock.
  2. BothDucks float on the water; a bridge placed on one kills it.

Before the Desert

Part 4 of 4. Get ready for the biome where the rain stops.

  1. BothUpgrade the Tank wagon before you buy the Desert engine if you can.
