What each player can do here

P1 · Luigi
  • Luigi holds the Poltergust G-00 and the flashlight: stun ghosts with the Strobulb, then vacuum and slam them. The run only ends if Luigi runs out of health.
P2 · Gooigi
  • Gooigi walks over spikes and slips through bars and tight spaces that stop Luigi. Water and fire empty his health at once and send him back to Luigi.
  • Gooigi is the only one who can get through the fences to the pool's drain wheel.

If your skill levels differ: Losing health is never game over for Gooigi; the run only ends when Luigi runs out. So the newer player usually takes Gooigi and the steadier player takes Luigi. How to split the roles

The pool

Part 1 of 2. Drain the pool and catch the swimmer.

  1. LuigiHe dives away as soon as you switch on the vacuum, so the pool has to be drained. Luigi vacuums up one of his balls and hits him with it to knock him out.
  2. GooigiWhile he is dazed, Gooigi slips through the fence and turns the drain wheel with the vacuum.
  3. BothOnce he is stuck in the drain, go down, vacuum off his goggles, then catch him.

Where people tend to fall

  • He spits water at Gooigi; take cover behind the pillars when he is awake.

The cat again

Part 2 of 2. Get the button back from the cat ghost.

  1. BothThe cat ghost steals the button again. Same trick as before: turn your back, flash it as it rises behind you, slam a tail off, and follow it through earlier floors until the last tail is gone.

Boss

  1. The pool: Stun him with his own ball, let Gooigi drain the pool, then unmask and catch him. You get the Dance Hall button.

Achievements and extras

  • Six gems are hidden on this floor, and a Boo turns up here once you have the floor's elevator button and come back later.
