What each player can do here

P1 · Leader
  • The camera follows whoever is making progress at the front; give that seat to the player who knows the stage.
P2 · Partner
  • A partner who falls off the screen can warp back to the leader, so lagging behind costs nothing.

If your skill levels differ: Let the stronger player lead. The newer player can drop in and out at any time and warps back to the front when left behind. How to split the roles

The zone

Part 1 of 3. Two acts, plus a Sonic-only act.

  1. BothBesides the two regular acts there is an extra act played only by Sonic.

Where people tend to fall

  • Sonic Retro: character-only acts can't be played in co-op; the game switches to one player for them.

Act 1: the insect robot

Part 2 of 3. Beat the harpoon robot.

  1. BothIt locks on and fires a harpoon: move away so the harpoon sticks in the ground, then spin dash up the cable and hit it.
  2. BothLater it skims along the ground; jump over it and land on its back.

Act 2: Eggman

Part 3 of 3. Turn Eggman's own attacks on him.

  1. BothYou can't hurt the machine directly: use its stuck tentacles as platforms and get the next tentacle to hit it.
  2. BothWhen it fires missiles, find the big blue one and jump into it to knock it back at him.

Boss

Insect robotThe Act 1 boss

  1. Harpoon: Locks on and fires a harpoon that sticks in the ground.
  2. Low charge: Charges along the ground.
  • Sonic Retro and Sonic Wiki Zone both list three hits for this one.

Dr. Eggman (Speed Jungle)The Act 2 boss

  1. Tentacles: Tentacles shoot through the walls and can be turned back on the boss.
  2. Missiles: A missile volley with one blue missile to send back.
