Up to four people can play Hello Kitty Party Land on one console, on Switch or Switch 2. The Hello Kitty Party Land multiplayer question is really a budget one: four Sanrio seats for $49.99 on October 29, or a party game you may already own.

As of Oct 24, 2026: Nintendo's Switch 2 listing read that day; the Switch listing and release data from our upcoming check of Oct 21. See upcoming co-op games for the latest dates.

Key Takeaways

  • Four on one console. Single system (1-4) on Switch and Switch 2.
  • No local wireless. Online (1-4) is the only other line.
  • 45+ minigames, Board Game Mode, Petit Games. Per Nintendo's listing.
  • Nintendo only. Bandai Namco lists Switch 2 and Switch.
  • $49.99, rated Everyone, out October 29.

Overview

Hello Kitty Party Land is a party game from Bandai Namco with Sanrio's characters. Nintendo's Switch 2 listing says you "team up with beloved Sanrio characters to play together in a variety of exciting mini games."

Store rows for Hello Kitty Party Land: Nintendo Switch 2 Single system (1-4) and Online (1-4) with the Play together on one console tag, Nintendo Switch the same counts, and no PlayStation, Xbox or Steam listing Chart: CouchCoopDesk, data from Nintendo's listings and Bandai Namco's game page, checked Oct 24.

Both Nintendo versions show the same counts. Neither shows a Local wireless line, so two Switch consoles in one room have no local link listed. The Switch 2 listing tags the game "Play together on one console", "Online co-op" and "Meet up and play together".

Sanrio's news page gives the same day: the game "launches Thursday, October 29, 2026". Bandai Namco's game page lists only "Nintendo Switch™ 2" and "Nintendo Switch™".

Desk note: 22 of the 45 Switch 2 listings in our database seat four on one console, and 12 of those 22 are rated E. Hello Kitty Party Land, rated Everyone, joins that group on October 29. A family of four on Switch 2 already had a dozen options; this is the first one with 16 playable Sanrio characters.

What fills the four seats

Nintendo's listing names three parts. "Jump into 45+ mini games with friends, either offline or online." Then "Take on Board Game Mode and keep the action going by playing quick Petit Games while you wait for your turn."

The cast is large. The listing says you can "Meet over 145 beloved characters and collect their stickers", and "Team up with one of 16 playable Sanrio characters". You can also design your own avatar.

Bar chart of Switch 2 regular prices for four-player party games: Hello Kitty Party Land $49.99, Super Mario Party Jamboree $79.99, LEGO Party $39.99 Chart: CouchCoopDesk, regular prices on Nintendo's Switch 2 listings, checked Oct 18 and Oct 24, 2026.

Analysis

The price sits in the middle. In our data, Super Mario Party Jamboree lists $79.99 on Switch 2, and our LEGO Party split screen guide covers a $39.99 Switch 2 Edition with the same four seats. Hello Kitty Party Land lands at $49.99.

Co-op or rivals? The store leans co-op: "team up", "partner up" and an Online co-op tag. The Board Game Mode is the open question, since the listing does not say whether players compete on the board. We will read the full listing again after launch.

Bar chart of the 22 Switch 2 listings that seat four on one console: 12 rated E, 9 rated E10+, 1 rated T Chart: CouchCoopDesk, Nintendo store data, checked Oct 18, 2026.

Online play has the usual rule. The Switch 2 listing says "Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) and Nintendo Account required for online play." Four people on one console are not online play.

Two smaller lines matter for families. Nintendo Account family-group lending is listed as supported, and the Switch 2 download is 5.9 GB. The Switch listing says the Switch version also runs on Switch 2: "Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch."

What players say

We found no player discussion we could quote before launch. The game is not out until October 29, and the Reddit archive we use was rate-limited on Oct 24. We will add player voices when the listing gets its first week.

Our take

Pick Hello Kitty Party Land for a Sanrio-loving family of four on Switch 2; wait if you own LEGO Party. Nintendo lists four on one console, and the game costs $49.99 at regular price. It is rated Everyone.

Skip it if your players are on PlayStation or Xbox: Bandai Namco lists Nintendo only. We will re-read the listing after the October 29 launch.

What we don't know yet

How Board Game Mode scores. The listing does not say whether players compete or share a goal on the board. We also have no confirmed link from Bandai Namco to an official trailer.

How we checked this

We read Nintendo's Switch 2 listing on Oct 24; the Switch listing, release date and price come from our upcoming-games check of Oct 21 and a research pass on Oct 24. Bandai Namco's game page and Sanrio's news page were read on Oct 24. Comparison prices come from our Oct 18 store data. We did not play Hello Kitty Party Land, which was not out yet.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many players is Hello Kitty Party Land? Up to four. Nintendo's listings for Switch and Switch 2 both read Single system (1-4) and Online (1-4), checked Oct 24. Bandai Namco's page lists 1-4 online players. There is no Local wireless line, so four people share one console or play together online.

When does Hello Kitty Party Land come out? October 29 on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 at the same time. Nintendo's listings show that date for both versions, and Sanrio's own news page announces the same launch day. Bandai Namco's game page lists only those two platforms, so there is no other version to wait for.

Is Hello Kitty Party Land co-op or competitive? The store leans co-op. Nintendo's Switch 2 listing tags it Online co-op and Play together on one console, and the text says you team up with Sanrio characters to play together in mini games. It also has a Board Game Mode, which the listing does not describe in detail.

Do you need Nintendo Switch Online for Hello Kitty Party Land? Only for online play. Nintendo's Switch 2 listing says a Nintendo Switch Online membership, sold separately, and a Nintendo Account are required for online play. Four people on one console need neither, just four controllers and one copy of the game.

Is Hello Kitty Party Land on PS5 or Xbox? Not that we found. Bandai Namco's game page lists Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch only, and we found no PlayStation, Xbox or Steam listing on Oct 24. The game is a Nintendo-only party game at launch, so other consoles need another pick.

How much is Hello Kitty Party Land? $49.99 regular price on Nintendo's Switch 2 listing and the same on the Switch listing, checked Oct 24. That is less than the $79.99 Switch 2 listing of Super Mario Party Jamboree in our data and more than LEGO Party's $39.99 Switch 2 Edition.
