Co-op games for a gamer and a non-gamer

15 games. Rule: Games our role notes rate 4 or 5 for a skill gap, with at least one seat rated Light (few inputs, forgiving) and rated Easy or Medium to coordinate.

Nintendo's own advice for someone less experienced with games is to pick a Yoshi or Nabbit in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, or to let a Yoshi player carry them from time to time.

This list keeps games with that kind of seat: a role our notes rate Light, help from the game itself, and no constant talking. Who plays which seat is about experience, not about who you are.

In this list: 15 games pass all three tests. Light seats include Yoshi (any colour) in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Gooigi (Player 2) in Luigi's Mansion 3 and Heeler family character (Bluey, Bingo, Mum, Dad, Muffin, Uncle Stripe) in Bluey: The Videogame.
